DJ Hurricane Set to Create New, DJ-focused Network on You42

Hip-hop legend DJ Hurricane is teaming up with digital entertainment company You42, Inc. to launch a new Network highlighting the best DJs in the world. On the Network, professional DJs can showcase their talents, share their knowledge, and connect with fans on a global scale. It’s also a place where up-and-coming musicians can try to make a name for themselves, growing their fanbase and working the turntables alongside some of the best in the business.

“DJ Hurricane is an icon who needs no introduction,” said You42 President Ashely Johnson. “He’s got the history and the experience, but he’s also looking to the future. By launching this Network, he’s going to bring some of the world’s best DJs together in one place, and the results could be groundbreaking.”

After getting his start with RUN-D.M.C. in the mid-80s, DJ Hurricane gained global recognition during his 13-year residency with the Beastie Boys, contributing to classic albums like “Check Your Head” and “Ill Communication.” He’s also gained worldwide notoriety for his solo work, including the album “Don’t Sleep,” featuring an amazing list of guest stars including Xzibit, Pharoahe Monch, Faith Evans, Public Enemy, and Talib Kweli, among others.

“I’ve teamed up with some amazing artists over the years, and a lot of the tracks we put out really changed the game in hip-hop,” said DJ Hurricane. “That collaborative spirit is the driving force behind this new Network. We’re bringing together established DJs and fresh faces, combining knowledge with raw talent to create something brand new—something the world’s never seen before.”

On the DJ Hurricane Network, DJs, rappers, and other musicians will be able to create their own Channels, reaching fans through music, videos, and podcasts, all on the same platform.

“You42 is built for a multimedia experience,” added Johnson. “Instead of uploading different types of content to different platforms, these artists can finally showcase all of their work in one place. And with a legend like DJ Hurricane at the helm, anything is possible.”
